2013 President Jeff Fontaine

Jeffrey L. Fontaine is a 30+ year veteran of the Colchester Vermont Police Department.  His current assignment is as a corporal in the patrol division.  Over the years, Jeffrey has been assigned as a patrol officer, a detective, an investigator in the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations (a county wide sexual and abuse crimes task force), a school resource officer as well as a DARE® Educator, and a patrol sergeant.  Other responsibilities include teaching Child Abuse and Sexual Crimes Investigations at the Vermont Police Academy, as a member of the Department’s Mobile Field Force and a hostage negotiator, as well as a member of the Colchester School District’s Emergency Planning Group tasked with organizing and implementing safety protocols.  While an investigator for the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations, Jeffrey was a key component in bringing the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) program to Vermont and he still sits on the Board of Directors.  He is a Domestic Violence instructor and helped to plan, organize and teach Vermont’s Protocol on Child Witness to Domestic Violence.
