2008 VPA President Carolyn Fredette

I am currently employed on a part time basis with the Rutland County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy, where my duties are primarily court officer, court security and transport team.   I was employed at the Vermont Criminal Justice Training Council/Vermont Police Academy as a Training Specialist where I coordinated the highway safety classes for police training for the State of Vermont and was an active member of seven state level committees of similar interest.

My educational background includes attendance at Rutland Business College, Castleton State College and UVM, as well as,  certification in Enterostomal Therapy from Cleveland Clinic Foundation, working in that capacity at the Medical Center of Vermont in Burlington and have completed my paralegal studies at Woodbury College.

I am involved in the community in various activities which include:  The Vermont Symphony local support group, Rutland Regional Medical Center Corporator, Rutland Hospice Volunteer and Town of Proctor Ballot Clerk.

I am married to Lawrence “Buster” Fredette and live in Proctor.  Our family includes five children and two grandsons.  We keep busy with my husband’s standard bred horse currently racing at Saratoga and in quiet moments I can be found reading, cooking, gardening, embroidering, playing scrabble or trying to become proficient at billiards.
